Chip Norris suffered a head injury at the age of 12 while playing soccer. Two weeks after the injury he had is first epileptic seizure. Medication and two operations failed to control his seizures.
After high school the next challenge was to find employment. His efforts were not successful. When he did find employment, he was terminated due to his seizures.
Drake Hospital held a series of meetings focusing on people with head injuries and employment difficulties. A representative from InRETURN spoke and Chip saw an opportunity knocking. Chip applied, interviewed and was hired. This is a very special place and concept. His attitude has improved, he is productive, he has met new people and the camaraderie is great.
InRETURN is not all work. There are several educational and life-skill programs offered throughout the week; hand writing, book club, fitness and exercise program, French language and cooking, Tai Chi, music and therapeutic horseback riding. During break time and lunch we have a choice of playing billiards, darts, ping pong, reading the newspaper or just talking with each other.
From Chip; InRETURN has helped me and has been such a positive influence on my life. I look forward to going to work. I always am eager to tell people about InRETURN.
